Horse admits doping jockey

A horse has faced the NZ racing board and admitted to doping a jockey. The horse “Quick Lance” admitted the charges and will be discharged from the association effective immediately.

The doping incident occurred before a race, when the horse deposited approximately 3 grams of the drug methamphetamine into jockey Nadine Brickhouse’s frappaccino, while she brushed down the horse’s flank.

The drug, a known performance enhancer and appetite suppressant was intentionally put into the 5 foot 56 kilogram jockey’s drink,in the hope of aiding race performance. When pressed on motive, the horse admitted he doesn’t enjoy “carrying losers”.

Suspicions were raised when the duo placed second in the race, the first time in the last five years, subsequent drug tests confirmed the doping.
